David Michael Vaughn brings you the "Star & Sea" artwork, an homage to the Laguna Beach coastline and nature's beauty. Combining exotic woodwork, hand painting, 24 K gold leaf gilding, lighting, crushed diamond dust and accompanying musical compositions. Siren Symphony

Mixed media wall artwork: Imported exotic South American Red Heart Wood as the inner "canvas". A vintage violin instrument is an additional piece of wood used in this remarkable composition. The guitar fretboard is cut into stairs that merge into the painting. Venetian Violin
34" x 24"

Mixed media wall artwork: Italian Olive Wood, painted canvas on a wood panel, and multi-dimensional resin artwork. A gondola in the shape of a violin floats on the Venetian Grand Canal. A view from the famed Rialto Bridge looks upon an acrylic painted canvas which has been divided into 3-dimensional sections to create the depth. The main water area features multiple layers of hand pigmented epoxy, diamond dust and flowing resin work. The violin is hand made by the artist out of wood. Gold leaf gilding, wood burning techniques and ultra-violet glowing powder added to paint pigments complete the inner artwork materials. The outer frame was lovingly restored and retouched by the artist and was chosen as a perfect complement to the narrative of the Venetian Violin. A final coat of resin encapsulates the multiple mixed mediums of art combined into this master work. David Michael Vaughn is a Laguna Beach artist who creates in an innovative new style called "Multi-Sensory Fine Art". He makes mixed media artwork with added dimension both physically and conceptually. He also writes and records original musical compositions that accompany the artwork. This combined art form has captivating depth and arouses multiple senses.

David explores various passions and artistic skills, reminiscent of a contemporary renaissance man. Inspired by the nature, beauty, and the artistic lore of Laguna Beach, he chooses exotic wood as a central "canvas" that begins the artwork's story. Then, working outwards, David assembles layers of resin which encompass hand painted elements, metal leaf, diamond dust accents, film transparencies and sometimes lighting and electronics. Finally, David adds the musicianship that goes into creating the sonic part of the accompanying musical score to complete his multi-sensory master works.

David is deeply inspired by the artistic community that thrives in Laguna Beach. The light and dark balance inherent in the artist's path and viewpoint are central in his artwork's narratives. David's art is visually rich, subtly futuristic in the combination of mediums, and cinematic in its multiple layers. It is initially fascinating, and then details evolve to be discovered and enjoyed over time, yielding potentially timeless compositions.
