Story behind the art:
A fine art piece by "Multi-Sensory Fine Artist" David Michael Vaughn. This artwork is an original commission piece created for wonderful collectors from Palos Verdes, California. It is a great example of the collectors working with the artist to achieve their combined vision. They wanted the art to complement their fabulous home and had some specific ideas as to some of the painted elements such as the peacock. The commission came about when the couple saw David’s Star & Sea Coffee Table and said it was artistically what they had been looking for. They asked if it could be customized and then hung on a wall. Amazingly, this had always been something that David had envisioned himself for his mixed media ocean themed art, and this was the perfect opportunity to realize that dream. The commission took about 3 months to complete. The clients were apprised of the progress at various points and were shown rough sketches and a mockup to approve as the artwork took its ultimate form. The result is David’s masterpiece which he has named “Beauty Of Sky & Sea” in an homage to the collectors’ mountain top home, which has airliner views of both the sky and the California coastline. The artwork measures 60 x 30 inches and is mounted about 2 inches away from the wall to achieve a marvelous floating effect. The art is, of course, illuminated from within and behind with the signature lights that David includes as an element in many of his masterworks.

Featuring:
A beautiful Austrian Mappa Burlwood live edge piece of wood as the central canvas, numerous painted elements such as the central peacock, peacock feathers with diamond dust, crushed foil accents, 24 K gold leaf disc, multiple layers of epoxy resin containing dimensional elements such as fish, and a 24 K gold painted Sea fan. The entire artwork is backlit with LED lighting that can be changed in color and controlled with a remote. A rechargeable battery is included. The artwork is completely handcrafted by the artist in every detail. A final coat of resin encapsulates the multiple mixed mediums of art combined into this ultra-dimensional master work.
