Artwork details:
I have been enjoying using the shape and wood of musical instruments in my artwork. When I imagined a story with a violin shaped gondola sailing down the Venetian Grand Canal in Italy, I decided to paint this "violin gondola" the way it would appear if you were looking down from the Rialto Bridge in Venice! Of course, it's complete with the iconic gondolier. The narrative of this work captures the beauty of a Venetian twilight evening that lets the viewer fall into the piece and reveals details over time. Just like the love stories that are kindled in this famed location, the work captures different moods at different times of the day and evokes romance, melody and enjoyment over the years. Italian Olive Wood frames the work and anchors it to the rich history of the locale, as a gold leaf gilded moon illuminates the romantic vista. Let love flow along the Grand Canal like a 'Grand Overture' shared with the love of your life.
This artwork is presented as a "Luchae", a new way of presenting this exclusive edition series in an illuminated light box frame, with a remote control, that can be set to the lighting level you desire or enjoyed in sunlight as you would a fine art giclee. David Michael Vaughn is the 1st mixed media artist to utilize this format to present his imaginative and evocative master works. It is available in several sizes to accommodate your space and budget.
