Marvelous Hummingbird mixed media original artwork by “Laguna Beach Multi-Sensory Fine Artist”
David Michael Vaughn
This artwork is dedicated to the amazing natural beauty and the conservation of the Marvelous Spatuletail Hummingbird. This hummingbird lives in Peru and is an endangered species numbering around 400. Many people have never seen their incredible dual paddle "spatula" tail feathers. I wanted to paint a hummingbird and the rainforest scene for a multi-dimensional tribute to one of my favorite wildlife habitats. We will be donating a portion of the sale of this art to helping these marvelous little birds and exploring ways to bring awareness to conservation efforts. My wife and I look forward to touring their habitat in Peru.
Featuring: A piece of olive wood as the central canvas with naturally occurring moss sealed in resin. A wooden carved hummingbird painted with foil accents and gold leaf gilding. Diamond dust in the waterfall and sun rays. Multiple layers of epoxy and pigments. Peruvian lilies and rainforest frogs are additional featured elements. Mounted in a permanent frame that floats the entire artwork. The artwork is completely handcrafted by the artist in every detail. A final coat of resin encapsulates the multiple mixed mediums of art combined into this ultra-dimensional master work. Signed by the artist. The art is 13 x 25 inches.
